Research and Development Engineer
Department: R & D
Division: Engineering Group

Overview

As a Research and Development Engineer, you will join other highly-motivated and passionate employees and play a major role in achieving this mission. We seek a talented, hard-working, outstanding individual to fill this position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enforce multiple program schedules holding other internal RND groups accountable
  • Communicate with domestic and international vendors on manufacturing direction, cost, and issue resolution
  • Report schedule status, actions, and delays to Managers, Directors, and VPs
  • Create release drawings and spec sheets for new development product
  • Constantly monitor shaft and grip manufacturers for new technologies and products
  • Conduct analytical research on current and future golf clubs and other equipment/mechanisms relating to products.
  • Be responsible for the design, development, testing and implementation of various technologies and innovations relating to improved golf club performance.
  • Plan and conduct or coordinate complex mechanical engineering experiments to test, prove, or modify theoretical propositions on the basis of research findings and experiences.
  • Prepare, organize, and otherwise communicate findings in technical reports to management and other departments as necessary.
  • Liaise with the Intellectual Property team as necessary to facilitate RND and IP coordination.
  • Liaise with the Operations team as necessary to facilitate RND and Operations coordination

Background

  • Ideal candidates would have a Bachelors degree or higher in one of the following majors: Mechanical/Aerospace/Industrial/Civil Engineering, Material Science, Physics.
  • New graduates considered.  Some experience (1-5 years) in Engineering field helpful but not necessary.
  • Experience in golf industry is a plus
  •  The successful candidate will exhibit high levels of creative problem-solving skills and grit.

Knowledge, exposure to, or experience in the following categories is a plus

  • Excel: general use, visual basic coding
  • CAE tools: CAD (Unigraphics), Finite Element (Altair Hyperworks / MSC)
  • Performance Testing: material testing, dynamic behavior (vibration, rebound, damping)
  • Materials: metals (steel, titanium, aluminum, tungsten); composites (graphite, fiber reinforced plastics, pre-preg)
  • Processes and Manufacturing Techniques: CNC, forging, forming, casting, stamping, heat-treatment, etc.
  • Assembly and Finishing: welding, screw, gluing, sandblasting, grinding, polishing.
  • Design of Experiments
  • Mechanical Testing: strain gages, impact, stiffness, fatigue, corrosion, environment.

Conducts testing and analysis in support of engineering staff

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Assists mechanical engineers in the planning and testing of mechanical components.
  • Prepares test reports.
  • Writes code in VBA to facility data collection and presentation.

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access, as well as Visual Basic, as programmer in addition to as a user.
  • Ability to work with and build mechanical devices.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Data Entry Clerk 1
Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Reports to: Product Test Manager

JOB SUMMARY

Data Entry Clerk 1 assists the test department by creating an efficient flow of work through the lab and providing proper feedback on results to the R & D department.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Receive components for lab work, update current projects list, maintain R & D lab schedule, prepare components and job sheets for technician, data entry of lab results, close out jobs upon completion, generate and distribute required reports, manage test department inventory, deliver and pick up parts from outside vendors.

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of Excel spreadsheet software and Access database software, some familiarity with VBA programming a plus. Organizational ability.

Graphic Designer
Classification: Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for assisting with all graphic design needs for in-house marketing and creative teams.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Design clear engaging graphic communications for print and web. This includes logos, branded promotional items, web-site graphical content, social media graphics, posters, sales sheets and other marketing materials.
  • Working closely with creative team to assist in creative concepts, graphical treatments, blend photography, imagery, charts, text, and multimedia elements and photography to create high–impact sales collateral, advertising, in-store POP and promotional graphics.
  • Ensure a creative yet consistent look and feel that adheres to and supports the brand(s), visual identity, legal guidelines/requirements, and messaging.
  • Work effectively with Graphic Design Manager & Art Director to develop compelling visual concepts and themes for marketing products and services.
  • Must be able to conform to a high-pace working environment with sometimes limited direction from management.
  • Must often times own overall projects with assistance from Art Director and/or Graphic Design Manager, effectively support projects and teams, and demonstrate creativity, effective oral and written communication, listening and decision making skills.
  • Maintain the brands identity assuring consistency.
  • Be able to manage and organize digital files per instruction.

Teamwork

  • Communicate effectively with team members within the marketing/creative department.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal departments and external partners to resolve issues and provide superior service.

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

Proficiency with MAC platform and tools: Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Acrobat) and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel.)

REQUIRED EDUCATION BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

  • Associates degree or Bachelor degree in graphic design or a related field
  • 3+ years of related work experience in marketing or communications, preferably supporting multiple internal or external clients in a high-traffic design environment.
  • Proven skills and educational training in art direction, typography, layout, composition, color theory, and information design; multimedia/motion graphics design experience a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Must be a self-starter and be willing to hunt down information to complete projects.
  • Must have the ability to interact with all levels of management.
  • Must be able to handle design critique professionally.
