HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA…Cleveland Golf has taken the already popular Launcher 460 driver and improved it. By adding Thin Crown Technology to the driver, Cleveland Golf designers were able to move 15% of the weight from the top of the crown to more beneficial areas around the perimeter of the clubhead. This redistribution of weight gives the driver a lower center of gravity and higher launch angle for longer drives. The improved '06 Launcher Ti460 driver maintains the original driver's extremely hot, plasma welded, SP700 beta titanium face, so players will still benefit from a huge sweet spot and a high moment of inertia, or resistance to twisting, for maximum forgiveness and distance even when the driver is struck off-center.

"I thought the original Launcher 460 went far," said Greg Hopkins, President/CEO of Cleveland Golf, "but I'm really impressed with the new technology our R&D team has added to the club." The accompanying Launcher steel fairway woods have also been updated to feature Thin Crown Technology as well as a Carpenter Custom 455 steel face plate. The new face plate is robotically welded to increase the size of the fairway wood's sweet spot thereby making it hotter and more forgiving on off-center hits.

Both the '06 Launcher 460 driver and fairway woods will begin shipping October 3rd. Even with the added next generation technology, the new '06 Launcher 460 driver will maintain the MSRP that lead the original to being voted "Best Value" by Golf Digest's 2005 Hot List. Both are available standard with a Launcher Silver shaft. MSRP for the driver will be $390 and the fairway woods will be priced at $249.
